Here is a CNC Keys design I submitted to Boris for production based on the pokeys. This is like the current CNC key sets sold by Aurturo, except this one will have LEDs in each button to show if that function is active or not. I think the production model will have slightly bigger buttons, and the LEDs will be moved to the left side, and I think a few of the ICONs will be changed, but the function order will be the same.

The functions in group one on the left (16 buttons) left to right, top to bottom:
Cycle start, single step, Load file, set next line
feed hold, reverse run, Close file, Run from here
stop, M1, rewind, block delete
reset, edit file, rewind, ref

middle group:
Spindle CW, Spin speed increase, feed speed increase, Jog On/Off
Spindle Stop, Spin Speed reset, feed speed reset, Jog speed +
Spindle CCW, Spin speed decrease, Feed speed decrease, Jog speed -
go to Zerio's, teach, stop teach, shuttle mode

end group:
X Jog select, Y jog select, Z jog select, step set 0.001
A Jog select, B jog select, C jog select, step set 0.01
+ positive jog move, Rapid jog move, - jog move, step set 0.1
Continous jog, Increment jog, MPG jog, step set 1.0

tell me what you think?

***edit 13Sep2011**
I added a pic of the new CNC keyboard that I designed for Boris so you can see the differences between the Old and New ones (old ones Arturo sells still).
I think the LEDs in the Keys really set it off.

Scott

First impression is it is a little busy but once in use the keys would become easier to find.

Thought about adding three pots to the panel for - Feedrate override, Jog Speed (handy for setting up work) and Spindle Speed?

Scott,

Nice job.  Is this something you are going to publish?  If you do I could offer the PCB and domes so people could make their own custom panels.

I like the way this looks, I bet it looks even better with the LED's.

I'm a sucker for back-lit keys Smiley

Scott,
Any update on availability of these ?
I was also wondering if a button could be programmed to do something else, (ex. Regen Toolpath), by the user.

Nevermind , I found them on the polabs website.......Apparantly they are NOT compatible with my pokeys 55T, or am I mistaken?

The kb48CNC keyboard utilizes the PoNET bus, which was introduced in PoKeys56 series of devices. Unfortunately, this means that kb48CNC can not be used with PoKeys55 devices.
