Ok i am doing a CNC conversion and also a motor swap/vfd install on my grizzly lathe. trying to test out the new motor with mach3. i have it hooked up to the VFD and it runs fine. i then wired up the vfd analog output from mach to the analog input on the vfd. i load mach3 with the gecko xml. switched the frequency control of the vfd to external input, not sure where to go from there to get it working.

There's probably a parameter you will have to modify on the VFD.

Have you measured the voltage coming out of the G540 to see if it varies with commanded speeds?

i havent but i will give it a try.

but just some more info to make sure i am not stupid. as i said i am using a G540 which has three VFD terminals, i am using a teco vfd which also has three terminals for external control.

this is how i have it wired up....  please correct me if i am stupid at thinking this is how it would be hooked up.

G540-------------------VFD
VFD GND              common
VFD output           analog frequency signal input terminal
VFD +10VDC         10V terminal
