I set the steps per to 2000, feed rate at 12. Jog either with mouse or keyboard is ok. When I try MDI and g code the x and/or steppers just screech. It sounds like their trying to run too fast. What did I miss?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Go back to motor tuning and reduce you velocity settings by about 20% to 30% below the point at which they stall and screech then save the setting before proceeding to the next axis etc.

... also, when jogging to set the tuning, set  to 100% (pic) to jog full rapid speed, or hold down the SHIFT key while jogging.

I was jogging at 100%, reducing the velocity fixed the issue. Thank you. Smiley
