Hi -
Got tired of all my smooth stepper problems so I went to the computer show and bought an ASUS motherboard with a parallel port. Yes bought a new system to have a real parallel port on it. Everything went well - got windows 7 installed.

For some reason, Mach 3 isn't installing the driver and I don't know why. Run driver test program and it says driver not sensed or something. During the install it says the driver did NOT install and run driver test program but that doesn't fix it.

Please help -
Thanks -
Keith

If its W7 64 Bit then the driver wont work, it only works with 32 bit OS's

This is not an inexpensive change. I got tired of all the smooth stepper problems so went and got this with a real parallel port and blah, blah blah....

Frustrating me crap out of me.

This week I installed the new drivers USB and Mach 3 DLL that Greg emailed links to. I got different errors than I had before. So went and got the stuff to build a PC myself...

Sorry to hear that but it does say in bold on the downloads page that only 32bit will work for the driver. You could try using the SS on that computer to see if its any better, could have been poorly implemented USB on the netbook that was the issue.

Yeah - I am just venting because I got a full version of windows 7 (not upgrade) for a great deal at the show and could of gotten 32 bit or 64. Go to best buy or something local it is much more for a full version.

Guess I have nothing else to lose. Will try the new smooth stepper drivers on this PC.
