Hi,

Is there any problem running a 0.8Kw water cooled spindle with a 2.2Kw VFD.

Just ordered a 0.8Kw water cooled spindle and I have a spare 2.2Kw VFD both bought from love-happyshopping on Ebay.

I have put a picture of the VFD in case.

Thanks for your time, Jeff

Usually, this is not a problem. There should be parameters in the VFD that you match up to the motor. It's pretty common to get a higher rated VFD to accommodate a motor upgrade in the future. I do not know anything about the Huanyang stuff.

Hi, that's what I tough.

I think that 142 is the parameter to be set at 5 to 6 amp for a 0.8 KW motor.

Thanks a lot, Jeff

I've also done it the other way round -
3kw inverter driving a 5kw motor - it just llimits the max grunt out I can get out of the motor.

(Siemens inverter)
