How do I move the A axis from the keyboard?

Try on the numerical keyboard for 7 -1   or   9 - 3.

They are often used for that purpose

You can set up which keys you want to jog from Config menu then System Hotkeys, you just have to be careful that the keys you choose have not been assigned to some other function.

They are "Home" and "End" on my keyboard, and that was how it was originally setup when Mach 3 was installed.

EDIT:  Maybe it's because it's originally an XML from Microproto?

Just checked it out on the netbook which has a clean install of Mach and only default xmls and Home is RefAll and End is Optional Stop toggle, wonder if its a UK USA keyboard thing?
Would be interested to find out what the Home and End keys do for other users.

On your Config menu then System Hotkeys what do you have for the A axis as I think the default is 999 which basically means no keys assigned.

Ah just saw your Edit Dave, yes that will be it, the xml holds the config for such things as system hotkeys.
You would have to be careful though as the screenset may have these keys assigned for other functions.
Thats one of the reasons I dislike hotkeys.
