I'm almost done making a tiny CNC machine table using CD Rom mechanicals. The stepper driver is something I pick up on ebay for a cheap price. It works well driving the larger 6 wire type stepper. Very smooth step motion. Has anyone had success driving the 4 wire motors using Mach3? Right now it works but not very smooth. I've tweaked randomly the Motor Tuning settings with very little luck.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum.

I think all my steppers are the 4 wire bipolar type (but not out of CD Roms  Smiley ).
