Error after every cut?
«

My Inverter goes to ERROR after every job.
This cannot be normal. I have to turn it off...wait...turn it on. Then I'm good to go.
Here's my only input...I did stop a cut. My Z axis wasn't high enough and my spindle bit began gouging the plastic...on its way to the next plunge.
Then I noticed the ERROR on the Inverter. I just turned it off then on...BUT
...ever since...when I'm finished with a job...say cut the lettering from a piece of plastic...it'll cut the given Tool Paths...then return to Zero...and then the Inverter goes to ERROR.
Any ideas? I'm too new to wild guess. I'm too old to think this is the way it is.
Thanks.

Dont know a great deal about Inverters but sounds like your ramp down in the inverter parameters may be too severe.

Hi Dan,
Have you got any details on your inverter ?

I'm too new to understand some of the lingo...I'll check on the Inverter = I'll try reading up again. Thank you.
( And...keep in mind...it's not that big of a deal...but still...)

Dan, what I am meaning is your inverter will have in the parameters a setting (or possibly a few) to set how long it takes for the motor to slow to a stop. If this is set to high then the motor will fault the drive.
If you have a link to documentation on your VFD I am sure someone will be able to point out what settings may need changed.

Hello hood
That I can understand. I'll look.
And...this didn't occur when I was running at 12,000 rpms.
Now I'm at 24,000 RPMs...and it does take longer...naturally...for the spindle to come to a stop.
Maybe that's the change that induces the ERROR...not that I stopped a run.
Again...I'll explore this.
Hood...thanks again.
Last...my Sales guy and I have had a falling out...got some hate mail...I'm on my own...no biggee...I'll figure it out.
Well...you may be the one who figures it out...!
Thanks again.
...off to my shop...

Good luck Dan, these inverters can be full of parameters but as long as you have a list of which is what it should be easy enough to figure out
