I am looking at upgrading my stepper driven system (currently Ahha), does Mach 3 make the steppers constant contour instead of stopping at every line (jerky slower movement) like the old Ahha does? I want to upgrade to Mach 3 so I can run Windows and have a modern computer with networking and a USB port. Also the old Ahha Artisan didn't constant contour very well. Maybe I'm spoiled from our large servo driven system (Fagor).

Yes, G64 in Mach puts you into Constant Velocity mode, G61 is Exact Stop.

Sounds like your acceleration is slow so you are getting corner rounding. Run in G61 (exact stop mode) and it should help. There are settings to turn off G64 (Constant Velocity) on sharp corners and think there may be info on setting this up in members docs section of the forum.

Just curious but why would you think there was a difference between steppers/servos with regards CV?
