Update:

Everything seems to be working out great for me. The new computer is a Quad Core with an external video card, Windows XP and Mcafee installed.

The driver test shows the timing to be stable enough, but it isn't a flat line like my old machine that has absolutlely nothing else running on it.

Overall I would call it a success.
