Tool Touch off
«
on:
July 19, 2010, 09:28:11 AM »
Hi, 1st let me say that I really like this new screen set, Great Job. My problem is that I am trying to use the z Tool touch off button, and nothing is working. I can get the led to light up when I touch it. I was using the Big Tex touch of macros before. I am sure I probably don't have something configured right.
Thanks,
Tom

I figured it out, I just had to copy the other tool touch macro and paste it into the new profile.

I don't know what the "big tex touch of macros are" - but MSM is self contained and there is no need to add anything to use the built in functionality. Please refer to sections 4.3 and 9.3.1.7.2 of the user manual for info related to TOuch off plates.
(In fact, I highly recommend reading the the entire manual

Thanks Dave, I did read over the manual some what. I have printed it out and will go over it more tonight. I did try the settings and I cannot get the tool touch to move. I will give it another try tomorrow, I'm sure I am missing something.

It's installed with the software. A button on the reference page (the page that provides access to all the reference documents) will open it. It's a pdf file so it's easy to print off if you prefer a hard copy manual.
My local fedex/kinkos charges me about $20 for a nicely printed B&W double sided, coil bound with vinyl covers manual (BTW, don't have them print it in color - that will be expensive).

Hi,
MSM knows where the manual is. The first time MSM has to show a PDF file, it needs to learn where the PDF reader is on your machine.
Please try the User Manual button again and look at that dialog box - I bet the title is
"Please Enter PDF reader Full Path and Filename"
If that's the title, it's asking you to tell it where to find the PDF reader.
Assuming you are using the Adobe Acrobat reader, it is in the program files directory on most machines.
The exact location is dependent on the version of the reader you have.
For example if you have version 9 it is typically
c:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
Use the browse button to find PDF reader and MSM will then open the manual.
Once the PDF reader path is known, MSM remembers it, it won't ask you again.

No problem- generally if one person is asking, I figure some others are or will be wondering the same thing.
