Upgrade , is CV better?

I am about to upgrade to the latest lock down version.


Has there been any improvements to the CV settings in the new version?

I am running R2.63.  I seem to be able to get reasonable compromise between rounding and speed/acceleration when cutting 2D. But in a 3D file i am getting rounding.
eg: if I machine a horizontal face followed by a up vertical face then followed by another horizontal face (an upwards step), it cuts cleanly into the bottom internal corner squarely but rounds the top external corner.

I have read through the Change log and there does seem to be some changes to the CV function incorporated into R3.xx.
I think I will give it a go and see if there is any improvement.
Just a quick question - it a long time since my last upgrade- what files do I need to save in order to keep my settings?

The xml for the profile you use, any custom macros, any Brains, any custom screensets and associated bitmaps and also tooltable and offset tables.
The tooltable and offsets are stored in the macro folder of the profile you use, they are called tools3.dat and fixtures.dat

I also use Key Grabber and have a smooth stepper will I have to reconfig these?

Easiest thing to do if you have enough room on your drive is copy the entire Mach folder to a different location. Then when you install Mach it will install and should keep all your settings intact. If something does go wrong then you have the entire contents of the old install which you can either put back or grab what you need.

I think the newer installs allow you to build a complete new profile so you do not have to move anything. Or did I miss something(;-)
