Licence restrictions

Hi All

Been a while since my last post as I have been busy getting my lathe and mill up and running; getting there with motors driving the mill. I will post some pictures soon.

I have a question concerning the licence I have for my Mach3 installation.

I am using the software for business use and would like to do some programming with Lazy ca, Mach3 and write text wizard on my note book which is not connected to a machine.
Is this possible and secondly is it permited. At present Lazy cam and the write wizard seem to be in demo mode.

You can use Mach on as many computers as you like for testing etc. If using Mach to control a machine which you make money with  then it is asked that you have a licence for each machine that Mach is controlling.
LazyCAM comes with Mach but LazyCAM Pro needs an additional licence.
The Write wizard is one of the standard wizards that come with Mach and should be fully functional whether a licensed or demo version of Mach is being used.

Hi Brian,

When using the Write wizard for the first time you have to select a Direction (0 is good) as well as all the other options, such as Font etc or else it doesn't work.
The Direction selector fooled me first time I used it.

The main problem I found was not knowing I had to hit the enter key to get the values to stop reverting to zero.

I am planning to make some swarf next week, away on my motorbike this weekend.

I have a licence for MeshCam for the 3D stuff but can you recommend budget software for 2D dxf files, apart from Lazycam?

I here Vectric stuff gets a good name, whether it will be suitable for your purposes I dont know. There is also Dolphin and SharpCAM that you can probably get a trial version of.

LazyCam is restricted if you don't have the pro version / license. The pro version will allow using you to create offsets, pocketing for the mill and other modules like the lathe. Documentation exist's  for using the mill and  lathe and not the other modules. The info is located in Members Docs.
Lazycam's turn module is being replaced by LazyTurn ( which is free ).

Vactric's Cut2D is a far better choice than LazyCAM. Easier to use, and more powerful.
