 Hi Guys,
I have been trying to get a new maching working for a friend
It is a Proxxon MF70 running USOVO uni 1500 board and a smoothstepper.
I can get the motors moving fine using the printer port and cable.
But now when I install the smoothstepper and run through the smoothstepper manual.I get the DRO moving on Mach3,but there is no movement at the motors at all.Not even the slightest change in noise.
I cant find any info at all on the USOVO UNI 1500 besides the pins
Is anyone able to shed any light on what Iam missing here please?
 Regards Jason

Did you tell Mach to use the SmoothStepper as the motion control device? If not Mach is still sending the pulses out of the parallel port. Open up Mach and go to 'Function CFG->Rest Device Sel...', click that menu option and then close down Mach and restart it. When you restart it will ask you to Choose a Motion Control device; select the SmoothStepper.

 Hi Jeff,
 Just a quick update.
I got the machine working now.
The problem was the ribbon cable going from the Smoothstepper to the UNI 1500 board.
The owner of the machine made the ribbon shorter and fitted a lower profile end on there too.
There must be a bad connection there because I fitted the ribbon from my machine and it all works well.
So if it will help anyone else reading,
The symptoms were Proxxon MF70 with USOVO UNI 1500 and smoothstepper.
The machine was working while using the printer cable, but once I installed the Smoothstepper,Nothing was working on the machine. The DRO was moving in Mach3.
I fitted another ribbon cable and problem gone.
 Thanks again Jeff.
 Regards Jason
