Thanks Hood, Rich, will give that a try. Save XML to another folder first and then put that back in the right place after installing that version Mach again?

Hello. I have a question about disk to recognize velocity and position of spindle. At older versions of mach I could use disk with some slots and one wider. Now i had to change PC in my turning machine and install the newest mach, but It works with one slot only! I dot like it. From time to time I have to cut thread on quit big pipes (~10"), then speed of spindle is rather low (~50 RPM). In spite of high power of spindle motor - 10HP, the rpm is not so rigid and plays according size of chips. At low spindle speed, it makes problems, thread is imprecision. So do you have any ideas to solve this problem?
Regards Marek.

Yes, of course, see my XML attached.
I still can not understand why is changed measuring spindle's velocity. Does any body could explain me?
Regards Marek.

We are rookies to Mach 3 Turn and would like to learn how to use the threading wizard, is there a tips and tricks section on the setups? Highland Community College Technical Center

MARGOR,

I dot like it.
Dosen't matter if you like it or not, it is the way it is. There is no advantage to multiple slots as compared to a single slot.

Adjust the type of thread cut or the depth such that rpm is stable or at least dosen't vary significantly.

I think everything you need to know is in the write up. There is nothing special about the using the wizard. You basicaly turn down your piece to a correct diameter, deifine the pitch and how far you want to thread,
the Z start should be about 3 to 5 x pitch to allow for aceleration, x end is depth of the thread ( and for a SHARP V THREAD DEPTH=.866P ).
