Turn + Threading problems

Hello to all. I'm a new Mach3Turn user and I finally got all my settings and calibrations done. My motor tuning turned out fine and extended testing show no lost steps and my travel is correct. I run a 4.500" OD Disc on my spindle, with a single notch of 0.250" wide. My spindle speed in Mach3 is dead on as verified with a photo tach and is steady.
I'm sure I'm overlooking a setting somewhere, but my problem is that my threads that are cut (Using simple threading wizard) come out really bad, as in no threads. The first past is correct, the seconds pass seems like it's 180 out because the threads are between the first set of threads. The third pass pretty much takes all the threads off. The fourth pass looks like it's correct and so on. I end up with the final finish looking like a metal file !!!
Can anyone give me ideas where to look in order to correct this please?

Hi Richard,
What version of Mach3 are you using ?
I would also go in the members document section as Rich has done a mega document about it "Threading On The Lathe"

First, are you running a licensed copy of Mach ?

..oh, and as Phil says, 033 reports to work well, 036 not so good.

Richard,
See section 7.1 in the manual / configuration, sounds like you are not triggering, should have... Use Spindle Feedback in Sync Mode ...checked.... as shown in figure 7.1.2.
See section 3.5 about triggering test.

To answer some of the questions: Yes, it's Licensed. The Demo wouldn't thread at all.
I'm using the current, stable release: 3.042.034
Thanks.

This is from another thread in this forum:
> Just to let everyone know version 3.042.029, 3.042.034, 3.042.035, 3.042.036 do not thread right at all!
Maybe, you should just try v3.042.033....?

I installed 3.042.033
Now, that made all the difference in the world. Nice looking threads !!!
You know, I even search the forums here for Threading Problems and it never pulled that forum thread up.
So I guess the last stable version isn't 034 like it said
Thanks for all the help !!!!

The updated versions have fixes for whatever, but i know 033 works for threading.
That's why i haven't updated here and the manual stops at 033. It took 1 1/2 years to get threading fixed.
Let's just blame it all on BRIAN.........i remember telling him not to break threading.....guess he forgot.
