Here's a couple of pictures of the first MDF mock up to come off the newly built router .. Actual guitar will be made of hardwoods and I'll post some pictures after it's machined.
Software used: AutoCad, Cut2D, Cut3D, Mach3.  Machine specs: 660mmX1270mm, 25mm profile linear rails, zero backlash ballscrews & nuts, 680oz steppers, gecko 203v, steel & aluminum construction.

OK, here's an update ..
A jig for locating material and machining both sides .. Red circles are pins that locate jig to table. Yellow, Blue & Green circles are pins that locate material to jig. 

Other pics are roughed neck, partially finish carved body ..

Update on progress .. first guitar completely machined with home built cnc is ready for final sanding & finish.

Not sure exactly what finish will wind up on this guitar ..

There's some talk about going opaque on the back and a sunburst on the front .. well see.  I'll post more when we're there.
