I would like to use an older Pentium III computer (850 MHz Celeron) with my Galil 1750 ISA card.  Do you think this will cause any problems (new computers with ISA slots are kind of hard to come by)?

The Galil controller should take most of the load off the computer.  Should I set the kernel speed to 25K or something higher?  Would a low kernel speed limit the maximum velocity of the system or is that more or less under the control of the Galil card?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,
Use 25 khz and you should have no trouble. Be sure to follow the installation instructions in the Galil manual to configure the interrupt and base address of your Galil board. Also upgrade the firmware on the Galil board. I have setup several of these systems.
