Hi Wes/all,

Sorry for not updating.

I will be honest with you. The 60mm motors vary slightly from manufacturer to another and thus the design of the cover is a bit more complex to make it fit on any 60mm frame. Nevertheless, there was developed a design that would fit theoretically on any 60mm motor. However, unfortunately, based on the sales numbers of the NEMA23 we can't go into mass production with the 60mm ones. Furthermore, based on the poll results ( http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,13593.10/viewResults.html  ) NEMA23 are the most popular motors and 2.5 times more popular than 60mm - this data is also confirmed by some leading motor distributors in the US.

All this makes me wonder if it's worth going into mass production with the 60mm frames. So again, the situation at the moment is that there is a design but no motive of going into mass production. Really hope to see it changing Wink

Might suggest a limited stock CNC machined, but then it will mean a higher price and will have to change the design.

Thanks,
Daniel

Thanks for the update on the covers. That is to bad that the 60mm motors are not standardized. Was really looking forward to adding these covers to my machine.

Thanks

Hi Everybody,

I am glad to inform you that I am going to offer a limited stock of aluminium alloy 60mm cover kits in a few weeks from now. Don't want to be too short on my QTY estimation, so anybody wanting some please PM me with the QTY. The estimated price is about $25 per kit.

Thanks,
Dan

P.S.
NEMA34 is in plans.

Please refer to the following document to confirm that the 60mm cover would fit your motor:

Hi all,

I really like these covers but missed not having a handle on the back shaft.  So, I added an extention to the stepper back shaft, drilled a hole through the cover and attached a sherline handwheel.

Details of the modification can be found at;

Cheers,

Peter.
