Support for Mesa 5i20/7133Cards
« on: April 20, 2009, 03:34:59 AM »
Hi everyone,
my name is Stefan and i come from germany. Sorry for my bad English.
Would there be any possibility to add support to the Mesa 5i20/7133Cards cause it#s an easy cheap way to control analog servodrives. With EMC, this combination is working very well. :)
Thanks

best regards, Stefan

Would not work. All you get out of Mach3 is step and direction signals. No direct servo control. The only device right now is the smooth stepper from warp9 which is comparable. It's a proprietary solution and still in beta.  Works well however and I could not use my large machine without it as Mach3, depending on MS windows, is struggling to create something resembling a smooth pulse sequence.
Cheers

Stefan that would be a great idea if we could find someone to do the plugin. The 5i cards offers great analog servo support and would be great for converting older iron that had good analog servos. Plus they support steppers equally well.
