Ron, I talked with you at the York show. I realize that the wizards in MachTurn were not done by Newfangled Solutions, but if you could ever get a chance to go through them and fix the bugs, those of us that are trying to use them would be very grateful. The may have to be done in conjunction with Brian fixing the MachTurn code, the two may be related.

Vince,
As you find a bug can you post which wizard and what it is.
I always wanted to go thru each one and just see how they work
but never seem to get around to dedicating the time.
There must only be about 50 or 60 of them!

The first one that comes to mind is the OD arc 3 that we already discussed. On the finish pass it cuts right through the arcs.

On all the turn wizards I have tried, the amount of material removal is based on radius mode even if you computer is set for diameter. So if you are thinking in diameter and want to remove .02" off the stock, you have to choose .01" because I think the authors were thinking about the actual amount of material removed my the cutter, not the stock. It's a little confusing. Another thing I found is if you have a piece of stock that is 1.5" and you want to remove .025" with each cut and you tell it that the stock is 1.5", it take the first cut at 1.45" not 1.475". If you enter the starting X diameter as 1.501 then you will get the first cut at 1.475".

Thanks Vince for the heads up and it is confusing. I usualy do all my turning in diameter mode. When
pieciing them together along with say threading, the threading wiizards are nore geared to diameter,
you can get in trouble quick. At the min a note on each wizard screen saying use radius for all
input values would be helpfull.
I always wanted to try each and every wizard, heck there are only about 60 of them, to see what "quirk"
exists if any.
Keep posting here as i appreciate it.

Another item that would be nice for the Turn wizards tool number selection so that it will insert the code M6 T0X0X.

Another bug is that the threading wizrd will only thread tapers that are in integral degrees, whereas NPT threads are on fractional tapers.

Another request if someone does start working on the turn wizards. How about a G74 cycle or other drilling cycles. I have been center drilling, drilling and reaming a lot of holes with my lathe recently and it is getting to be a pain to program them by hand. There is a lot of chance for error when typing code by hand.
