Hi all  Cheesy

I want to connect the signal wires of two steping motor drivers directly (without any BOB) to my SS PORT1. I'm going to use MACH3 to control the machine.

Link to the driver http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/201962359/M542_Stepping_Driver.html and schema:

The manual of SS, here: http://warp9td.com/documentation/SmoothStepperUserManualV1.0.pdf

I thought that it can be done this way:

- PUL"-"/DIR"-" Port1 outputs set in MACH3 setup connect directly to the drivers inputs
- join the jumper on SS Board which enable +5v on Port1 PIN 26, than make a bridge and connect all PUL"+" and DIR"+" drivers inputs

All power connections are done, the problem is with signal wires.
Is it possible to do it right this way (without BOB)?? If yes, please tell me how to do this (which PINs to use, other configuration),  ... I'm a rookie, help me if You can.

best regards

Rafal

I am using the MDS542 drives on my machine, driven from a smoothstepper.  I have it setup so that the signal line from the SmoothStepper (i.e. the pulse and direction signals to the drive) are wired into the + lines on the MDS542 drive, and the -side is wired to the 0v signals from the Smoothstepper.

This seems to work great for me Smiley

Cheers
